Stockport Town Centre Residential Design Guide

Overview

Stockport Town Centre continues to go through a period of change and growth. At the heart of this transformation are ambitious plans to increase and enhance the town centre residential offer.  

To make sure high-quality and sustainable residential growth takes place, we must clearly outline our design expectations. The proposed Stockport Town Centre Residential Design Guide sets out the council’s design expectations for this area of the borough. 

The design guide is intended to be used by developers, designers and decision-makers to help guide future residential developments in the town centre. 

The council has prepared the guide to align with their ambitions for Stockport, working with industry experts (including Planit and 5Plus Architects) to ensure high quality, achievable recommendations for the future of our Town Centre

This online survey splits the guide into each of the separate chapters. It gives a summary of the chapter and a link to the full version. It also allows you to provide comments on each of the chapters.  

You can find the proposed guide, and links to give feedback at the bottom of this page. The consultation runs until Wednesday 3 July at 23:59pm.
