This section refers to Chapter 3 of the Stockport Transport Strategy (pages 52-62), which focuses on planning for future growth and how the transport network will need to adapt. It highlights how new homes, jobs and developments, especially in the Town Centre and the Airport and Southern Growth Corridor will shape future travel demand and the importance of providing sustainable, well-connected transport to support this growth. This chapter also explores how transport systems might change and the way we travel might evolve and how we can support our ageing population.
