Proposed Traffic Regulation Order - 'No Waiting at Any Time' Greenway Road and Surrounding Area

The Network Management Section has received a request from your Local Ward Councillors to investigate parking in the area following concerns raised by residents; the concerns are that motorists are parking their vehicles close to the junctions and blocking dropped kerbs making it difficult for residents to gain access on and off their driveways. It is further reported that parked vehicles are hindering the movement of traffic and limiting visibility for other motorists and pedestrians.

To overcome these concerns, it is proposed to introduce a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) – ‘No Waiting at Any Time,' (double yellow lines) we have broken down the area into three smaller areas as shown on the drawings below

NM8-4099-1 Bolshaw Road Area

NM-4099-2 Greenway Road Area

NM-4099-3 Outwood Road Area

Individual properties can also apply for an Access Protection Marking (H-Bars) these usually cost £195 each, however, your Local Councillors have asked if we can consult with residents to determine if a discount can be applied should multiple residents wish to take up the offer. Therefore, if 10 or more residents take up this offer it would be approximately £125 each (further discount would apply on shared vehicular access). This is an approximate cost and may be discounted further dependent on the amount of residents that show an interest via the online consultation, we would contact interested residents following the consultation with further details and exact costs.

The request for an investigation has been discussed with your Local Ward Councillors, who has agreed to consult on this matter. Therefore, to assist the authority in reaching a decision and to give us an in depth understanding of the issues, please could you spend a few minutes to consider the options and give specific feedback and views.

All comments must be received no later than 28th June 2024. We expect to receive a large number of responses therefore we regret that it will not be possible to send individual replies to specific questions. Although we will try to address frequent questions/issues raised when we provide feedback to all consulted households.
