School admission arrangements consultation 2027-28

Overview

Stockport Local Authority is the admission authority for all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools in Stockport, it administers matters regarding admission arrangements on behalf of the Governing Bodies of many Voluntary Aided schools and Academies in the Borough. Accordingly, Stockport Education Department are undertaking this statutory consultation process with parents and other stakeholders for the whole family of Admission Authorities in Stockport.

The Admissions Code requires Admission Authorities to consult on its Admission arrangements every seven years, if no changes have taken place within this time period. The Local Authority wishes to invite interested parties to take part in this consultation on the following items for entry in September 2027:

  • Admission arrangements for community Primary, Infant, Junior and Secondary Schools
  • Proposed change to the Published Admission Number at Nevill Road Infant School and Nevill Road Junior School
  • Admission arrangements for Laurus Cheadle Hulme
  • Admission arrangements for Cheadle Hulme Primary School
  • Admission arrangements for Marple Hall School
  • Admission arrangements for Romiley Primary School
  • Admission arrangements for Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School
  • Admission arrangements for Cheadle Catholic Junior School
  • Admission arrangements for Stockport Academy
  • Admission arrangements for St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy Marple Bridge

What happens next

The relevant admission authority for the schools will consider the responses to this consultation and will determine their admission arrangement for 2027-28 school year by 28 February 2026.
