Ramillies Estate Consultation

Overview

Following Government advice in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic we have cancelled the drop-in event that was scheduled for Wednesday 25th March at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church Hall. We are still asking for residents' views on the proposals presented and would be grateful for your feedback either online or via post. We will review responses and provide an update later in the year.

We are aware that some local residents are concerned about parking and other highways issues in the Ramillies Estate.

We are seeking your views and comments about this and some initial proposals to address the issues. At this stage, we are gathering views to further understand the issues and to see if there is support for any of the proposals. Your feedback will be used to inform the further development of a scheme, if the principal of a scheme is supported.

We recognise this is a sensitive matter and there is a need to balance the needs of local residents, businesses and amenities within an active community, and that there will be different views about the current issues and the impact of potential measures the Council could introduce.

We want to know your thoughts on what issues there are in the area and the type of measures you may like to see implemented to address them. We have developed some initial options for discussion purposes which include:

  • Option 1: Additional signage and painted markings to reinforce the 20mph limit.
  • Option 2: Parking restrictions at certain times on some streets to stop all day parking – e.g. no parking between 12 and 2pm.
  • Option 3: Introduction of a one-way system so that access can be maintained if there is parking on both sides of the road.
  • Option 4: Combination of Options 1-3.

If there is support for one or more of the proposals, we will develop them into a detailed scheme. We will then ask you for your views in a more detailed consultation.

You can provide us with your views by:

  • Completing this online survey
  • Emailing us at  RamilliesParking@stockport.gov.uk
  • Completing the paper postal form (sent to residents and local businesses in Ramillies Estate)

The closing date for responses is Friday 10th April
