What is a Local Plan? A Local Plan sets out the vision for future development in the borough. Local Plans are used to help decide on planning applications and other planning related decisions. It's a guide to what can be built where, known as a land use plan. We're required to produce a Local Plan by the end of 2023. It will be used to assess planning applications for new developments in Stockport over the next 15 years. It will help to deliver the vision that partners, stakeholders and residents set out in the One Stockport Borough Plan.
