Redesignation of Neighbourhood Forums

Stockport Council has received two applications for redesignation of neighbourhood forums from:

• Woodford Neighbourhood Forum
• Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow and Compstall Neighbourhood Forum

Anyone wishing to make representations on the proposed designation of either neighbourhood forum must do so by 11.59pm Sunday 21st December 2025, either:

• by making a comment using the "Make a Comment" button below, or
• by email to neighbourhood.plans@stockport.gov.uk, or
• in writing to:

Representations will only be considered if they are received at one of the points of contact above by the date above. Please make it clear within comments to which forum they apply.

In line with the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended by the Localism Act 2011) and the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, the council will consider the application and any representations received in accordance with the instructions above. A decision will be made and published as soon as possible after the consultation closes. If a designation is made no other organisation or body may be designated for that neighbourhood area until that designation expires or is withdrawn

Please note:

This consultation is specifically about the applications for Woodford Neighbourhood Forum and Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow & Compstall Neighbourhood Forum to continue acting for their respective neighbourhood areas. The neighbourhood areas and the Woodford Neighbourhood Plan have already been designated and comments on those will not be taken into account.

This consultation runs alongside other consultations, including one for the Stockport Local Plan. Comments for consultations should be submitted in accordance with their instructions in order to be considered.
