Overview

As part of the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) Bus Pinch Point program to deliver bus and highway improvements on the A6, Stockport Council is developing proposals to improve access to bus stops on Buxton Road.

This proposal aims to support sustainable travel choices and improve safety for pedestrians.

The proposal includes: 

  • Improving access to the bus stop in front of Stockport Cemetery (stop SG4053) by extending the footway north in front of No. 33 to 35 Buxton Road, with the provision of a vehicular dropped crossing. The existing No Waiting at Times Shown restrictions (single yellow line) would be remarked around the new kerbline.

Consultation responses must be received by 9th of May 2025.

We would like to invite you to consider the plans and information above and indicate whether you are in support of the proposals.  Your feedback is valued and we welcome your involvement in the process. We regret that we will be unable to reply to all individuals but we will collate, analyse and consider all responses received and the feedback will be used as part of the decision-making process prior to the implementation of any scheme.

We would like to hear your views on the proposals, and specifically to what extent you agree or disagree with them.

All responses to this consultation will be considered as part of the scheme development process prior to any implementation. Please be aware we may not be able to enter detailed correspondence with individuals about points raised.

It is intended that the scheme be reported to Central Stockport Area Committee  with an anonymous summary of the responses received to this consultation.
